    Market Days
    Wimberley hosts the oldest outdoor market in the Texas Hill Country and the second-largest in the state with over 475 booths over 16 acres, music & loads of food. Although no longer a primary place for exchanging agricultural goods, Wimberley still maintains its market history by hosting the event on the first Saturday of the month from March through December.     Wimberley is a Mecca for artists of all disciplines from every genre, is home to many well-known national and international artists, and contains various art galleries. For an example, see Pitzer's Fine Arts. It is a long-established art gallery in Wimberley and an anchor to the town Square.

    An outdoor amphitheatre and much more located on a beautiful 12-acre site in Wimberley, EmilyAnn is home to a variety of productions and community events including Shakespeare Under the Stars, the Butterfly Festival and Trail of Lights.     Dick's Classic Garage

    Purgatory Creek Natural Area
    Located just 5 miles east of us within the protected Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone, this 570-acre preserve is a favorite destination for hikers, mountain bikers and naturalists. It is home to Purgatory Creek and includes canyon bluffs, dense woodlands of oaks and junipers, open savanna meadows and ephemeral wetlands. Park Info & Map (pdf)

    Blue Hole Regional Park
    This newly acquired 126-acre public park nestled on the bank of spring-fed Cypress Creek in Wimberley offers recreational opportunities with miles of winding hike-&-bike trails, naturally-shaded picnic areas, and amphitheater, soccer, basketball and playground activities. At it's heart is an environmental treasure and one of the most revered and historic natural swimming holes in Texas - the Blue Hole - where visitors can wade, splash, swim & rope swing.     Outlet Malls -- top
    San Marcos has two major outlet malls, Premium Outlets and Tanger Factory Outlet Center. Combined, the two adjacent malls have more than a hundred stores and it is reported that more people visit the malls annually than any other Texas tourist destination. During peak seasons, shoppers at the malls can reach numbers that effectively triple the local population.
